Terms of Service

Last updated October 23, 2026

Brand Codex is provided by Mike Kwal Digital Inc. (DBA MK-Way / Brand Codex), Ontario, Canada. By buying or using Brand Codex you agree to these terms. Questions go to [email protected].

What Brand Codex Is

Brand Codex is software as a service. You give us a website address. Brand Codex reads the public pages of that site, extracts the logo, colors, fonts and industry, and produces a one-page brand guideline: a hosted web page, a PDF, a brand-codex.json token file and a ZIP of logo files, font files and mockups.

Results are built and checked by software before they are sent. In these terms, "codex" means that set of files.

Your Website and Your Rights in It

You may submit your own website, a website you have permission to use, or a public website you want as a design reference, such as a site you admire or a prospect you are pitching. A reference Brand Codex records the look of a public page, its colors, fonts and how its logo is used, so you and your tools can describe what you like. It gives you no rights in that site's logo, name, images, text or brand, and you may not present them as your own.

For your own site, you are responsible for the rights in the logo, fonts, images and text on it. We do not verify ownership or permission. How you use a codex built from someone else's site is your responsibility, and we may cancel an order that breaks these terms without refund.

What You Get and What You Own

The codex is yours to use for your business: with designers, developers, printers, AI tools, anywhere. We claim no rights in your brand or in the codex.

Two notes. Fonts stay under their own licenses; if your site uses a commercially licensed font, your license governs your use of the font file we package. Mockups are AI-generated renders of your logo on objects, for illustration. They are not photographs of real products.

Plans: One-Time Payments

Grow is $27 for 2 credits: one Brand Codex plus a second one as a bonus. It is a single payment through Stripe. Agency is 100 credits, priced on a call. Nothing renews and there is no subscription. Every codex built with a credit includes two mockups, the PDF, brand-codex.json and the ZIP of logos, fonts and mockups.

A credit is one run of Brand Codex on one website. Credits are valid for one year from the date of purchase and expire after that. Buying again adds the new credits to the ones you have, each purchase with its own year. A rebuild under "No Cash Refunds: Credits and Rebuilds" is free and does not use a credit. Running Brand Codex again after you change your site, or on a different site, uses a credit.

Agency includes the Swatch Kit, White-Label and priority in the queue.

White-Label puts your name in the footer of codexes you build for clients. The codex stays a record of the client's brand. You are responsible for having the right to submit a client's site.

Your login: after payment we email you an access link. The link is your login; there is no password. Keep that email private, because anyone with the link can use your credits. You can request a new link at any time at brand-codex.com/login, which disables the old one.

Fair Use

Agency is for what a real agency needs: codexes for your clients, prospects and own brands. It does not cover scripted or automated submissions, bulk resale of the output as a data product, or use to build a competing service.

If usage looks automated, we will contact you before we limit anything. We may throttle or end accounts that ignore that contact.

Delivery

Your codex goes to the email address you enter at checkout. Most are delivered within minutes; these terms allow up to 24 hours. You are responsible for entering a working email address and checking spam folders. If nothing arrives within 24 hours, email [email protected] with your order details.

No Cash Refunds: Credits and Rebuilds

A codex is a digital product, delivered by email within minutes in most cases and hosted at a permanent link. Once it is sent, it cannot be returned, so we do not give cash refunds. This applies on every plan.

Instead, if your codex has a real defect, we rebuild it free. A real defect means the wrong logo, wrong colors, wrong or missing fonts, a mockup that failed to render, or a codex that never arrived. To claim, reply to your delivery email and say what is wrong. The rebuilt codex goes to the same address.

Not a defect: you changed your mind; you dislike the layout or mockup style; Brand Codex read information that was on your site at the time but was outdated or wrong; you submitted the wrong site. The full policy is at Credits and rebuilds.

Chargebacks: contact us before disputing a charge. We answer disputes with the order record, the disclosure shown before payment, and the delivery log.

Acceptable Use

Do not use a Brand Codex built from someone else's website to copy or impersonate their brand. Do not use the service for anything illegal, or to impersonate another business. Do not scrape, reverse-engineer or overload the service or the preview reader. Do not resell raw software output as a data product. We may refuse or cancel orders that break these rules.

Accuracy and Limits

Brand Codex is automated and can make mistakes: a wrong logo variant, a color that came from a photo, a font it could not identify. Check your codex before you use it in print or as a record. A codex documents what your site shows. It is not a trademark search, a legal review of your brand, or design advice.

Availability and Changes

We may change, pause or end the service, its prices or its features. We intend to keep hosted codex links live and will give notice by email if that changes. These terms may change; the date at the top shows the current version. Continued use after a change means you accept it.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability for anything arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect losses, lost profits or lost business.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Disputes go to the courts of Ontario.
